10 ways to help your child when they start nursery

Talk to your child about nursery, the teachers, activities & other children.

Encourage your child to be independent in toileting, pulling up trousers, washing hands etc.

Help your child to share their toys with other children.

Encourage your child to put their coats on & attempt to do buttons & zips.

Encourage your child to tidy up toys after an activity.

Encourage talking by giving choices.

Share a book/story with your child & encourage them to listen & comment.

Sit and do activities with your child encouraging them to concentrate for 5/8 minutes & to finish tasks.

Give you child lots of praise when they do something new or difficult.

Bring your child to nursery regularly.
